Xanthippe " Here in the U.K we have a saying never discuss religion or politics"
The Rebel (A) Maybe that explains why Blair was elected and allowed to bomb Iraq?
The Rebel.
i am inclined to start this thread in response to some comments made in other threads.
i have been coming around these forum for quite some time now so whatever you find in here is not just related to something someone may have said this week.
it can go months back as well.. i have seen many who claim to respect the belief of others but when it comes down to applying it into practice, things take a whole different tune.

O.C " You were the one being disrespectful"
The Rebel (Q) How would you justify that comment?
Probably best if you don't answer as the O.P. is " On the respect of the beliefs of others" not personal issues I have with Oubliette, which have nothing to do with beliefs. Maybe it's our history, maybe it's a personality clash, but it doesn't belong on this thread. End Of. We have P.M, if we want to sort it.
Maybe that's the best way to respect the beliefs of others, not to side track the thread thread with unrelated crap.

On this one I have to say I agree with Simon, if those posts weren't deleted I am sure Oubliette and I were at war. Hardly worthy of a thread " respecting the beliefs of others"

O.C " People who have invested their time and life into a profession deserve respect"
The Rebel (A) Does that include pioneers, ministerial servants, elders, circuit overseers and the G.B?
We have many " professional educators" in our life and we have many people who have invested their time and life into a profession, footballers and politicians, In my opinion that is not the criteria for respect.

The real joy of this thread does not require thinking but the simple joy of discovering how we can all get along, and as we all get along we all gain greater insight and better communication skills.
The above bullshit was what we belived as beloved as Jehovers Witnesses.

LoveUniiHateExams although your reply was directed at another poster my reply is:-
I think Christianity gets attacked on this forum more than Islam because it is an ex- Jehovers Witness site, But the way I look at it, both Christianality and Islam are based on an a concept of individual merit and guilt.

the trnity to me means the true nature of god essence, attributes each person of the trinity is equal the father the son and the holly spirit all share the devine nature ie three persons of the godhead are all equal in power ,glory and wisdom john 10:30.jesus and his father god are one meaning of the same nature mathew 28.19 jesus said all to be baptised in the name of the father and of the son and the holly ghost reprissenting 3 persons of the godhead to wellcome the devine trinity into your soul .
My answer to the trinity challenge is that trinity equals infinity.

Truthseeker thanks for the link to the poetry foundation.
In my opinion Poetry is:-
A) Serene
B) Free of elements of thought that may trespass upon universally accepted principals.
However does not the success of a poet come down to there descriptions of nature and of ones feelings? My observation is the poet and any artistic form of expressing God, are held up to the light on this forum and ridiculed. Now I am not saying that is right or wrong, but what I would say is that if I wasn't an athiest I may even be a poet.

I think success is having a brain that does not surrender to the presumed authority of its institutions, science, technology, art, literature and marketing values.
For example " The Rebel" died on whatever day I leave this forum. But how I live on from that death would be based on how successful I was having shared, interacted and absorbed my and other posters viewpoints.
Therefore my time here would not have been a success if due to my ignorance I was afraid to participate and learn in the debates. Therefore I believe the evolution of a person is what I consider success. I say this because a fantazy of mine is a future dream where the real success of my life is that I am not influenced by the media or advertising to define who I am.

i'm thinking about trying out a new hobby.
in my country there are plenty of places that are geologically suitable for the presence of gold nuggets.
in fact, several gold mines have been historically explored from the days of the romans until present day.. at the same time, i love archaeology and history and there are many possible unexplored archaeological sites near me that might merit a superficial survey.
When it comes to " gold detectors" I am sure I would rather use them than be used by them.
